  the dial indicator is useless without this setup.

• I wouldn't say that. I use mine all the time without the other tools. I just want them now to save the hastle of making my own

• Are the cam locking plate and the injection pump pin the right size to work on an AHU TDI as well as the 1.6 N/A diesel or will these only work with the 1.6L diesels?  Thanks.

  I have no idea. I do not know anything about the AHU motors.
  
  I used this on a 1.5L diesel i owned.

  This setup will not work on a TDI,
  I have both a 1.6NA and 1.9TDI and there very different.

• um i got an ahu tdi
  and i have all the tools pictured
  and yes all the "old" tools work on an ahu tdi
  well on my tdi-m they do at least.....
  
  yea the cam lock will work on an ahu
  
  the pump lock works on mine (ahu)cause its old school mechanical

• sorry my TDI is an ALH.
  the pump pin is smaller than the 1.6 and
  the cam lock for the ALH has too fit around the vacuum pump mount
