Well, a friend came over and helped with the motor. He said he new how to adjust the IP. Not. After turning the power screw several turns in both directions and then turning the smoke adjuster in till the lock nut came off I realized I am in big trouble. The motor ran before the rebuild and while the machine shop continued to cut and recut the heads. Now the IP is out of adjustment and I have no idea how to get back to stock settings.
I think the problem was mostly in the injectors, but coke had a good idea. The timing might still be off. Either the timing was retarded or I am? When I first advanced the timing the engine knocked real bad. It sounded like I was throwing a rod. If I retarded the timing more it ran rough but no knocking. I did mark the point where the timing was at 1.02 mm and moved it back and forth from there.
Does anyone have the specs for setting the IP back to stock for the powere screw and smoke screw??
