Differences between Mk1 / Mk2 TD pumps?
« on: October 16, 2006, 11:54:11 am »
Just searched the archives, but can't seem to find the exact answer.  Does anyone know whether the Mk2 TD pumps are the same as the Mk1 units?  Both were on 1.6TD's... are they interchangeable?

I'm looking to get a spare from a friend and he's got a Mk2 pump, I've got a Mk1 engine.  The idea would be to have the extra one to send off and get modded...

Not really a big difference, mk1 and early mk2 pumps did not have an idle boost with the cold start mechanism, nice to have but not a big deal. I find the later pumps a bit smoother but that could just be age related...
