I know he was a little disgruntled with some of the goings on around here, and haven't seen a post from him in a while. Is he gone for good? His account is also seemingly gone?

He had 'Admin' privileges and he deleted himself.. We never heard from him since this time..
It's a big loss for our community..

I was always impressed with his world class tinkering capabilities.

He pretty much did the same thing on another forum he administrated.

I was probably a part of the problem although I have admired some of sharkys ideas. He particularily hated that there was now "commercialism" on the site and secret tunings, especially Giles keeping quiet on his pump modifications.

that's the only thing i don't like, and honestly i don't think giles would lose any customers by shedding a little bit of light on stuff like the governor mod and just basic tuning. i mean i understand he has got a job which he must make profitable and everything... but you know... people like dave at pp and stuff, he has a business too but he loves helping out.

I try to help out, and in a way I hate hiding some stuff, there are few things I hide these days, I have started to realize a lot of the stuff I wanted to hide most people had no means of duplicating anyways so it didnt really matter, its not like I amracing lehmans  As far as giles goes, you have to realize that pretty much the whole diesel injection scene is that way, allt he shops are tight lipped, there are a lot of threads explaining pump mods here already. But I agree, even if Giles explained some of his mods 99% of us couldn't do them anyways. But I am sure he is more concerned about keeping the shops secrets so he doesnt get in *** more than anything.

I remember that, I wasn't sure if that was his only gripe or if he left because of something else. He was always really giving with everything he knew, and expected the same of everyone else which is easy to say/think when you don't make a living off the info you are giving out.
The sharkey mobile rules,

From his
FAQ Q: What do the police think about it? (the "pusher" trailer)
A: I don't know, I didn't ask them.

The diesel scene is very slow to evolve in NA, because of the tight lippedness of diesel shops and tunner's, as well as up until recently little to no trickle down technology from corporate race technology. This started way back when farmer's first started to compete in pulling tractor's, for pride not money. That scene is still very tight and there is little to no information out there on the web, or much even in person unless you own a tractor and spend $$$$ or are related to a serious puller. This is despite that pulling tractor's are now producing well in excess of 300hp/L!
Sharkey wasn't against commersialization, he was agianst information boards not sharing information, a bit of a conflict of intrest, but none the less, that is what I made of it.
Yes his idea's and tinkering skills are missed, but his cynasism is not.

Indeed, he is missed- but like some others have said, he seemed to act a bit "snappy" and I really didnt care for his attitude sometimes, but on the other hand, I dont like to see anyone angry at anybody. (cant we all just get along?) But to each his own. Businesses need to do what they need to do to get by. I like sharing information as much as anyone, but like someone mentioned, it's easy to say when you arent making money off of your products/ideas.

Its strange, because we didn't have any people around offering services like Giles or the other vendors on the board I was referring to. Im not quite sure why he left.
I think he still visits but just doesn't post. Not quite sure whats up with him..
