Help! My Rabbit has finally developed the dreaded "biodiesel eaten fuel line leak" on the Injector spillover lines so now I have to replace them ASAP.
However, I don't know what size they are!!
Can anyone tell me the diameter of the fuel lines of a 1981 Rabbit diesel!??
Thanks!

here's a pic; it's *these* lines
I believe it's 3mm, but 1/8" works fine as the returns shouldn't be under pressure if everything's working ok.
I'll bring you some Tygon line on Mon which will work but won't last forever either. It was cheap, I have it in stock, and it'll keep you going for now

Plus it's yellow clear & looks cool
From the responses I got on the Biodiesel BBS and the Vortex, I believe they are 3.5mm, but Robert! THANK YOU!! I just can't seem to find this size anywhere right now and need a synthetic line anyway!
plus; yellow is cool
That will give me time to order the Biodiesel compatible ones online

.
Thanks and see ya then!
1/4" OD nylon air brake line also works well, and is resistant to everthing. Ideal Supply in Stratford would keep it, available in colours as well...
All sorts of stuff will work with Bio for a short time, but it's a real pain in the tuckus replacing them after diesel's spraying around the engine compartment and leaving puddles everywhere you sit.
Order up some Viton lines in the right size and never look back. Greaseworks in Corvalis sells kits all ready to go, including a stubby stopper for the last injector hole.

Commuter boy;
That is exactly what I'm going to do

.
Problem is; I should have done that a long time ago!
Thanks!

Only problem I had with this is the nipple onthe intake that feeds the aneroid valve (LDA?) Seems that I have a 1.6 that has a smaller nipple than normal! Had to put a piece of bigger stuff around it and clamp it in that one spot. Worked fine everywhere else. Cheap too! Should be able to get it anywhere someone works on big trucks.
