Bought a new clutch cable, need help
« on: September 01, 2006, 05:44:26 am »
So I bought a new clutch cable and it came with this on the end:

*cell phone camera*

Now my issue is that my old clutch cable snapped right at the tranny so the end of the is long gone on the higway somewhere in Kitchener (not important).  What is important is how do I connect this to the clutch lever on the tranny?  Is there some sort of circlip that I was supposed to re-use off the old cable?
Help would be apreciated as I have to put this thing in tomorrow.

Yup, there are three parts that attach the clutch cable to the arm.  One rubber thing and two metal things.  Go to a junk yard or a dealer and get the correct stuff.  Get a bently too, if your planning on keeping the car for a few years.

PRetty sure the rubber bushing ist still in the arm but are the 2 "metal things" just washers and circlips?  The reason I'm asking is that I would have to drive this car to the scrap yard to pick up the parts so if I can put some crosby clips on the cable for now to get there then that's what I'll do.  As long as it doesn't damage the cable.
