HONESTLY WHY!!!?????????
« on: June 11, 2006, 01:52:26 pm »
Why dont you have a giles pump on your car yet??? I recieved a built pump and set of rebuilt 155 bar injectors and all i have to say is wow. Giles did his first 12 mm pump for me and i dont think i could ask for anything better. VARY SATISFIED! with a factory pump with the fuel screw turned right up on my car it was only just barely beating 2.2 caveliers   so i patiently waited about a week and through the pump in on the weekend and all i have to say is wow. It has gotta be about 3 times faster then it was before and there is no exhaust smoke under boost.even under no boost and punch it there is only a haze. I only have a 1.6 and i have never felt so much off boost torque (from a 1.6).... listen to me bable like a little school boy.  anyways i just had to vent a little bit cause i am so excited about it.

Umm, because I'm too cheap?

I've considered it, as I could use a little performance boost, but... I have REPAIRS to do first.

I am cheap to but once you get it done and over with its honestly worth it and i think you would get quite a bit more then a little performance boost.

its a fellow member on this board Giles@superiorfuelinjection and i got a 12 mm pump with all of his other tricks that he does.  i would say the 12mm pump is to big for most people but if you have a big turbo then i recommend. He can make you a pump for any application.

you can even use the 9mm setup he puts in a 1.9 camplate and some other mods and would give you more then enough fuel for that

To be fair, I've seen CAN$750 as the number for a 1.6NA pump rebuild. That converts to about USD$673.

Hey Smokeydub...I'm probably buying  a N/A diesel A2 Jetta in a couple of weeks and my only concern with it is the power  (or lack of) issue.  Is your Jetta N/a or turbo? How do you find your acceleration onto highways now as compared to before the pump rebuild...also maintaining highway speed going up steep grades, tailpipe smoke at WOT, and last but not least, the affect of your fuel economy. I would seriously consider getting the pump modded if there is enough of a real world difference......thanks for any info.....
No I am NOT in denial!!!!!
