There were a few AAZ's built in the early years that did not have an LDA, similar to the 1V ecodiesel in the US. Most were passats.
To get more fuel under boost you would ahve to do the same thing as ecodiesel owners, install either a complete TD pump or the top cover and LDA from one.

I've got the same pump. You likely also have the single stage injectors and the matching fuel lines.
The turbo I have doesn't seem to have an adjusting arm to increase the boost either.
Mid way through 1993 the Passats stopped coming with this setup, if the Bosch nozzle book I saw last year is accurate.

I don't know where you live, your location isn't listed in your profile, so its difficult to tell you what models to look for...
Assuming you're in Canada, The pump from a 93-94 golf or jetta would work. The pump from 95-97 models will fit but the entire bracket assembly from newer engine must be used.

I've heard Giles at Superior Fuel Injection can replace the pump top at the same time he does a rebuild.
You will also need to get the dual stage injectors from a golf or jetta of the same vintage, and the matching fuel lines (or bend the existing ones to fit, which may be a bit of a dodgy proposition, given their age).
Or, just swap pumps & injectors & lines from a golf or jetta.
The pump was designed to not dump more fuel in when the boost cranks up, which means it burns very clean at higher rpms.
You'll also find you've got a non-adjustable turbo, which may be problematic if you're looking at upgrading the pump for power reasons.
What type of mileage are you getting out of your Passats? I'm only getting 800-850 out of a tank, tops.

i actually have a jetta but the engine was replaced completely. i was told it had 150K. it runs fine.
so i basically have a very low boost - next to nothing but a more efficient engine.
basically 1.9NA power wise

what about machining the top? the thing looks like its pretty straight forward
if someone knew what they were doing. but of course i haven't a clue..
i haven't even seen one of these with the boost enrichment before on the 1.9s but ive only seen a few 1.9s...

i have next to zero knowledge on IP's.
