Hi folks,
I just found this forum when I was searching for information regarding dieseltuning.
The last 1.5 years I have been working on a Golf Cab project and recently I bought an rebuildt 1.6TD engine.
I am going to install the engine the next weeks si I wanted to share this with you guys

The car looked like this when I bought it..

Today it looks like this..

Here`s the engine before I started to strip it for paint and shine..

In progress..

Today I started installing this, AirRide suspension

I am not satisfied with the height in front so I am going to modify the airride for additional 40mm drop.

IŽll keep you updated regarding the enginebuild

You can follow the complete project @ VORTEX -->

That's a fine looking cabby you got there

I like the detailed pics you posted in vwvortex.
Thanks!

I`ll try to keep this thread engine-related, so all other updates will be posted in the VORTEX-thread .
 woah, looks superb and pretty different too

 look forward to the updates!

I wanted to make it odd and special. Not just a car that dissapeard in the crowed
Thats also the reason wanted a turbodiesel. "Everybody" else uses 1.8T 20V, G60, VR6 etc.
There`s been done ALOT of modifications to the car.
Also check the old VORTEX-thread for more detailes regarding this.

That was my idea too... I just picked up a diesel cabby
that rollbar removed is very cool, so are the fitipaldis and.. and.....
Massive project you got there! Great and KL-EEN car, pretty German-style. Quite big rims, but that's fine.
I just think that the suspension is a bit exaggeratedly low. Won't the tyres rub when you steer?
Don't like the mirror setup..

Todays update
I finished "tearing up" my dieselengine =)

Now it is ready for some cleaning and paint. (Sorry for some out of focus pictures)

This is the plans for the engine
- Beige engine bay
- Completly black engine
- Kl-een`ing of the engine bay
- Install a hidden InterCooler (in front of the radiator)
- Hide all cables etc.
Painting the engineWell, todays task was to paint the engine.
After some good cleaning the engine was ready for some black paint

And the result when I left the garage tonight.. back in black
Update...
Yesterday I sandblasted and painted all the small engineparts and the engine mounts.

I will continue working with the engine tomorrow.
Todays update..
It starts to look like an engine again

Now I only have the dieselpump and the waterpump left to paint.
I am not sure if I am going to paint the dieselpump all black, or keep it as it is with some black details.
Wish i owned a cabby now  good work, keep us all posted
