TIME OUT!
Look, I know it seems a bit overwhelming when a couple guys throw a lot of stuff your way all at once (like above) and you are eager and excited about your achievement. So, just let me say that EVERY point they made is valid and very great. Just work through them one at a time and it will all make sense.
As Lucas said, any engine that just got installed is going to "pollute" until it get the crapski's boiled and run out after an extended proper temperature run. Until then, no, you really don't know what is going on. And, the proper timing and VALVE ADJ. is for real as well. And, not having a cover on that belt is very much like going out and playing professional football totally bottomless (bet ya wouldn't do that, huh?).
But, let me congratulate you for your work so far...it looks very good....except I am not sure what that inverted donkey dik thing is all about! Maybe, I need one of those....who knows?
I think we often forget to praise others for their efforts (yes, I watched the Pope yesterday and I feel so blessed

and you are a bit refreshing compared to a couple recent posts of mow rons who seem to live to destroy things.
Anyway, good job and keep moving forth. If you need to find a belt cover.....just ask if anyone has one for sale. OK, I have been good today.....back to kicking the dog........................
