I have been shifting at 6,000, and going through the speed traps in top gear around 5100 rpm.   That's 135 mph.

I don't know where the max fueling begins. There's plenty of smoke at 2500 rpm, though.

you need a tdi gearbox,thats for sure...

I would think the 02A from the AAZ Passat would be better since it's not quite as tall (but taller than all the 020 options IIRC). But I don't know much about the flats...

the one i had in tha passat was like a 4s from mk2 golfs...
changed to a cyp gearbox,almost 200km/h at 4000rpm.
not the tallest but for me(passat 35i) is the best!

I was looking into 5-speed gearboxes (02A, 02J), but we decided on a different plan.

For Ohio in 2015, I'm planning to stick with the 020 4-speed I have now.

For 2016, I'm planning to use a "DRW" code 6-speed, both for the 1.5L engine, and a 2-liter setup that we will be bringing to Bonneville.
