171919827 and 171919827b ... are they available or needed?
« on: April 06, 2014, 09:32:28 pm »
On my 1982 Audi 4000 I have these two switches on my injection pump. I am not 100% sure what theyre for (one seems to be an idle switch), and neither work, and the car runs great.

Do I need these? If so, where the heck do I find them? I cant find them for sale anywhere online..

Heres a picture stolen from someplace online of one of them

Probably related to air conditioning? Lots of cars have a switch to disable the AC at WOT. Not sure why it would care about idle for that though. Does the car have EGR?

Nope. No AC. I also read it was for the up shift light?

If I don't need them I wouldn't mind hiding the wires. But just want to make sure I don't need them. Not that they work now though....

I saw a 30K mile Caddy like, fifteen years ago, that had them, and they worked.
That was the only one though.  :)
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become ignorant.
