This is why clowns should not take IPs apart. How do you break the plunger like that?

I have seen one break while re-installing the head. Tighten it down crooked and *** goes awry, true story.
Please be respectful of the people here.
Better be respectful. Wouldn't want anyone being butt-hurt.

Are you kidding? It takes a large amount of stupidity and force to break the plunger. They had to have tightened it down crooked as tight as they could get it, then tried to beat it in with a hammer. IPs are precision pieces of equipment that most people just should not take apart, much less work on in a sandbox with a buck knife and a rock for tools. They were most likely baked, as well from the look of the ad. No excuse for that kind of abuse.

maybe so but on this forum it is more about helping someone than pointing out what they may have known already. Use nice wording to do so. Don't use cuss words in the message body or in the reply section.

I have tried to diffuse the situation bbob, please to not try to continue to add to it. It makes more for me to do usually.

And the excuse for this abuse? Uncalled for.

If you actually read the ad (something I'm not sure I would do either if the roles were reversed), I described how my dad was "helping," and broke the plunger. We've all done stupid things like that before. Easy with the "there's no excuse for abuse like that" stuff though; it's not like he was turning screws on a kid. It's just an inanimate object, one that can be easily replaced.
I actually sold the pump, believe it or not

!
Craigslist ad was meant to be funny, and to try to get on the best of cl list. It's been a life goal of mine. Looks like some people got it, others didn't, or just didn't like it. That's fine either way. I don't have much wrapped up in it.
Anyway, thanks for all the help over the years. I still lurk on this site every once in awhile and always enjoy what I read. Cheers--
Andrew
