Anyone have a CLEAN catch can setup?

Well do you? Do the hoses need to remain the same size as stock or could one use something like the bfi valve cover and run some braided stainless with fittings?
Prefer to see setups that drain back into the block. But anything is fine.

There is a surprising amount of volume on some of these engines going through that tube.. So tale that in to affect.

If you under size it you will cause pressure in the crank case.. and oil will start puking from places it should not.

I seem to recall you saying this in another thread which is why I asked to confirm.

 I am not talking about using 3/8" line though. Just something a bit smaller. What's on there now? Like 1"? Would half inch line be ok? I seem to recall someone on this site having a setup with the catch can attached to the head somewhere and then leading to the block.

I am no techie.

I have put a fitting on each engine I got between valve cover tube and the block fitting.  But since that fitting was a smaller barb over the big one on valve cover, I have been just using that size as far as the hose/fitting going down to block.

Is that ok or would the block hose need to be the same size?

Your post just made me wonder

I made an inline catch can out of pvc cannister, plugs with threads for fittings and stainless steel balls inside and it definately did something on an engine I was using that had lots of blowby.  Let it build up and go down into block.

I recently removed my blowby setup.  I picked up on a Volvo unit and had it plumbed into the VC and then down to a secondary catch can so I could easily empty any oil I was pulling out of the system.  I only ran it for a while then the rings just gave up on the #3 cylinder so I pulled the head and did the proper repair.

So I have that catcher if you want to offer on it.  Do me a PM and maybe we can set up something.  I surely don't need it anymore.

I'm running A/N fittings, braided line, and a Moroso puke tank mounted in front of the core support.  It does not drain back to the block, however.

I didn't drain mine back because I wanted to see how much oil it was going to pull out of the vapors going into the intake.  I didn't keep it on long enough to find out.

Then on over to this on the drivers side strutt tower



I'm actually just waiting for the Russell's stainless braided with blue AN fittings in 5/8 hose size.

Looks like it should be a very clean setup, but is there really room for the water heater under your hood?
