Is this an A/C or non A/C setup?
« on: August 25, 2013, 10:51:55 am »
Hey I found a good deal on a 1.6TD engine a guy was going to use for a samurai project but never got around to it.  The engine came pretty complete other than a few minor things such as an alternator.
I was wondering if this alternator bracket/pulley setup is for use with an A/C compressor or not?   Because if not I was wanting to use it to remove my A/C setup on my pickup.   Thanks

Looks like the MK2 bracket, IIRC they were the same bracket for both a/c and non a/c. The difference was in the alt and pulleys.

Getting my spare low mileage Eco engine to run on the ground. Here's what the ac bracket looks like. I wire brushed the p/n so hopefully it is legible.

The AC alternator mounts the tensioning bracket in a different location allowing the alternator to be up, rather than down. I'm not sure exactly what the tensioner mounts to, I haven't seen an AC setup in a while (thankfully)

It looks like this

I also have this cogged adjuster but wasn't sure how it worked so thanks for the picture.  I'm able to get a reman non A/C alternator from the parts store.  So if I'm reading this all right, seems with the bracket ,  adjuster and 65a non AC alternator it should be all I need to get rid of my AC compressor.
I was wondering how the belt setup worked tho,  I see there is two ribs on my crank pulley?

You will probably need different pulleys to make it all happen. I'm not 100% on that though.
