Recommendations for getting AAZ Valve Cover gasket to seal?

I've been using an old VC gasket, knowing that I'd be pulling the valve cover multiple times to check timing, etc.
Naturally, it leaks like a sieve.
When I go to put in the new Victor Reinz gasket, what if anything should I do to ensure the best possible seal (factory stamped VC)?
RTV in the corners where the curved part of the front cam seal mates with the flat surface?
Hylomar all over?
What's the preferred setup to minimize leaks?
A Corrado style valve cover is not in the works for now - maybe next time around.
Steve.

Thanks. Did you hit both sides of the gasket with the great stuff, only 1 side (which side), or did you do away with the gasket altogether and just use the great stuff?
Any details would be appreciated.

I ran it between the head and gasket, a little in the cam cutouts, and also a thin coat between the gasket and cover on the low side of my engine... Vanagon tilted over at 50-degrees, so that side of the seal sees a lot of oil. It's very effective stuff, a bit pricey. I used a new Reinz rubber gasket.

This is good news. I also have issues with my AAZ and even thought of drilling the lip and using a 1.6 cover.

I went lookingt for "Great Stuff". All I can find is a foam crack sealer. That would be very hard to use, and non oil-compatible. Comments

Not sure on your engine, but on my AAZ, the valve cover gasket has to be installed first, because it has several rubber tits that align it into holes on passenger side. Installed the gasket then the cover. It would leak if the near 10mm tits were just squashed. I used the same RUBBER gasket, with no sealer and absolutely no leaks.
