For those of you who have egt gauges - just wondering what egt temps are you running on the highway?
Not sure of rpms ( but I suspect 3300ish), on a 32 deg C day, my egt's were around 430 C ( 806 F) steady driving and on a pedal to the metal, up a long hill I hit 545 C (1013 F).
This 1.6td, fuel screw turned up, no intercooler, auto trans.
I'm clearly safe egt temp wise?
Is your probe pre-turbine or post-turbine. If pre-turbine, then you are safe. If post-turbine then you would have to calculate the pressure drop and consequent temperature drop across the turbine in order to know if you are safe...

I'm pre-turbine. Yes, I'm safe - lol!!

What is the limit temp-wise pre -turbine? - as there seems to be a wide range of numbers out there.
RPM will have little to do with it, at 3000 RPM engine braking, I'll see 200F, climbing a hill at full load it will hit 1400.
Coolant temp climbs if I don't stay below 1250.
700-1100 on flat ground at 75 depending on wind, standing water, etc.
If I start off from my buddies, I climb out of a Valley immediately from his place.. I can be not reading on the water gauge, and by the top (maybe 2 kms..) the water temps are up to 185F! haha
She blows some heat, with that k03 being so small.
