Put the high pressure stuff from the wiped out one in the one with high pressure issues. Done.

Keep it clean and work with the pump sitting shaft down and you will have no issues. No need for full disassemble.

No pressure on #2 sounds like you just need to swap delivery valves. Much easier and safer.

CRSMP45 the magic comes not from elves or fairies with wands of gold but from the depths of a jar of Vaseline. YEPPER!  Coat those springs, both sets the big guys that are on the sides of the head and those two little dudes that press up on the governor assembly.  You should be able to hang the whole thing upside down without the springs falling off the head.  I also put a generous dab of it on the back side of the little tiny washer to hold it in place in the body of the IP so it isn't moving around.

All I do is line up the pins and springs as I lower the head onto the shaft.  Very tight fit here and much caution is required or the shaft goes crack and you are SOL.  Once I get the head close to the body I put the four screws in the corners and snug them with the fingers.  Then I lightly press on the back of the head to see if it will go down to the bottom of the IP body and not hang up.  If so the I just push some and tighten some.  Once the whole head starts going into place I get the wrench and cross tighten around the four corners.  A bit here then there and finally the whole thing is pulled into place and sealed up tight.

Like 8V says we just do it.

Oh yeah. practice makes perfect on this one.  So try it on an old pump and get good at it.

^ also, this is the point where you remember to correctly index the shaft  with the keyway so your pump is not 180 off inside.

well i am hoping someone knows of a kit with them.. they not in the normal pump rebuild kits... the black box cannot be removed from the pump.. took lots of work to get the 1 over the black box.wiring plug.. ive sen people asking abt these before.. but never a where to get or pic of them till i took 1 apart..

sadly those 2 o-rings may be vwsnaps tdi-e conversion or not.. not willing to sell w/leak.. its like a waterfall now that it sat all this time.. :(

so kinda hoping someone like libby has run across those o-rings in some kit they obtained..

Try DFIS 503-235-1947

If they won't sell them to you, boil in water for an hour to swell them and they may seal for a while.
