looking for definitive numbers on it. what's the max useable boost with an intercooler? how much hp will I make with it on a tdi with stock injects? with. 216 injectors?

i cant say for sure since i have never seen a compressor map for one, but i would guess its in the 100-150hp range.  150 is being optimistic.

Here is the same map with my guesstimated engine's eventual capabilities.. 200hp peak power at 5000 18.3 PSI. I accounted for SUPER cool intake temps because I WILL be running an AWIC setup.



Dot 7 is 5500.

Dot 8 6000.

So basically 5500 would be the redline at 18psi, the turbo would still be above 70% and not over spooling.. JUST BARELY not over spooling haa.

Can you do a plot on the GT2056 as well?  I have a feeling it's a very good turbo for the 1.9L engines in general, would be interested to see your plot on that compressor.

4th dot is 3000 and it is just at the surge limit.. last dot is 6000 and is just over spooled. Would work well in practice from what it says on paper.

The well-known mussel-shell curves of the compressor map is super-imposed with the engine's "swallowing" or "aspirating" curves, which are the nearly straight lines that go up and to the right.  I can't even remember myself what application this turbo is for or where I originally posted this LOL, but it is definitely a K14.

This particular engine at rated power/RPM corresponds to the swallowing curve labelled "1,0".  Without knowing much else about what engine this turbo was originally installed in, this turbo supports a mass flow rate of up to about 0.18 kg/s (read the lower X-axis label).  I use a rule of thumb that a Diesel engine (I assume a TDI, but IDI should not be much different) requires about 10-12 lb/min (0.076-0.09 kg/s) of airflow per 100 HP peak power to operate relatively smoke free.  I go through the math in detail here, here and here (but caveat here).  So the short answer is that this turbo supports about 200 HP but the engine won't produce this much power unless it is able to aspirate this airflow (function of RPM, volumetric efficiency and displacement, equation is written out on the upper right of the map) within the boundaries of support boost pressure (pressure ratio, P2t/P1t) in the first place.

i would guess this is the turbo found on mercedes diesels.  kkk turbos part numbers are actually their compressor size

2464, would be a 2.4" exducer and the inducer is 64% of that


so about 61mm exducer and a 39mm inducer.

so its somewhere between a 40 trim t3 and a 45 trim t3, definitely not the k14 from a vw.
