Ford blue; going into my brother's cabriolet
In the same vein, Jacks Lack did New Ford Grey for his big power daily AAZ. I think it's the best grey out there; bright to help with leaks, but still good at expelling heat.

Blocksmith, what is the color of the valve cover? it almost looks like Mexico Beige.
Alpine green is WAY more pale/greyish than the standard green..
grey shows oil leaks quite amazing btw..
black just looks too OEM, but DOES expel the most heat..
And that's why I chose Black, to dissipate heat. Kind of a holdover from what I learned about air cooled engines and cooling tin painting. And again, black never goes out of style, and goes good with everything.
My engine for my dream Bus swap, though, will be painted Niagara Blue. Lovely powder enamel color, with a hint of chalky grey.
Model pic instead of engine bic, but you get the idea:

There is some original green there under oil filter bracket in oil gallery

I prefer black myself because it makes the grease or oil and grime on the block harder to notice.
And I want to see some actual data about this "black dissipates heat better" business. At least I want to see something that shows it makes any
significant amount of difference or I don't believe it.
Fresh from powder. This is OFFICIAL John Deere engine enamel poweder from the manufacturer

And the other 1.6 in typical black
I only believe stuff I read on the interweb if it is on this forum. All else is suspect to fact twisting and BS.
When mine comes apart.. EVERYTHING is going to be Gloss Gold

with Black accents.
