I currently have a 210mm gasser flywheel on my M-tdi. With a hand ground TDC mark
Its all good haha.
I like the idea of finding an older 210mm FW and getting an older disk and pp.

My AAZ flywheel there is 1 dowel, but it was bigger than the 2 dowels in the 2 pin flywheel. Throwing #s out no accuracy here, but if the 2 pin size was 6mm the single pin was 8mm. I had the clutchnet 210mm setup and then bought the luk setup from Ebay. The luk clutch is awesome. I only paid 150.00 for the kit with everything from luk. I like the luk stuff as there is a plant in Wooster just north of me and I know the guy in test. He just explodes clutches all day and the stuff they subject them to is crazy. Good company. I even read that the luk in the MKIV with the DMF will hold 40ft/lbs more than the OEM or Sachs before slipping. Doesn't matter it was just TDI club and no one had a real way to test. Point is don't be afraid of them.

1997 1.9L AAZ DFP 020 transmission. 230,000kms black on black on black. Real nice.
I am looking at purchasing another non-runner/driver for a steal and a half.. However the guys ad says "broken clutch links"..
I message him and ask what he meant by it, apparently his mechanic says its internal to the trans and is gonna be $500 in parts alone. So he's selling cheap.
Now this points me to three things if the clutch pedal itself does not come back up. They are spring loaded on the mk3 are they not? So either that, but the mech says internal to trans so I am assuming he knows his shiiite. The little arm that pushes the throw-out bearing, or the uhh.. whatsitcalled.. the disk the push rod pushes.. brain is floating in beer.. you know what I mean eh?! lol CSRMP5 post here haha.
So gents, I was thinking just replace the whole damn trans.. do the rear main, clutch and all the trans stuff while I am in there... what do you think?
the clutch actuator finger is probably cracked..
its a 20 minute fix to replace it with the trans in the car..

I went and looked at it, I got the guy down to $300 on the phone.. (I must be extremely charismatic? LOL)
It was rotten right through on the floors, and the drivers side which wasn't shown in his pictures. So whatever I passed. No room for a parts car unfortunately. Engine and trans only had 230000 kms.. Damn.
OH WELL!

unless you got older flywheel with 2 dowel.. or remove dowels rembering you better know where tdc is.. dowel to prevent that mix up.. then order older 16v disk, and 16v pp.. i always felt the 16v pp was stronger then a 8v one.. so i guess you should look up clutch kit for say a 87 golf/jetta/rocco 16v..
the 16v pp is DEFINITELY stronger..

It is amazing how well some cars photograph and still be rotted out.
