This might work for produce but corn products like tortillas still don't show if they are GMO.

Perhaps GMO can supplement the more natural sources of food.GMO and petroleum based fertilizers do not produce more calories per acre the only reduce the labor costs. How many of the 7-8 billion people have anything better to do than farm organically?

I would add that the new technology allows more seeds to be put into the ground. I dare say that every seed put into the ground will yield a plant with several hundred seeds. There is a lot more energy that can come off an acre than ever.As far as eating GMO. Who knows if it safe to feed you or your dog or the cowthat you will eat. Food is not the only use for plants however.

I know. My parents farm I will never be able to own. Maybe a piece of it.-----------snip-----------
That is sad. They worked the ground, they paid all the appropriate taxes on it and now the government wants half of it when they die. Our property laws wentback to King John of england and the Magna Carta. A lot of Internet references to it are very skewed but a good translation of it is here: http://www.constitution.org/eng/magnacar.htmPoint 61 is very interesting. Coasttocoastam is one of the very few places (utilization of news media) which is making an honest attempt to disclose/bring attention to the very real dangers of utilization of gmo products. You will never get a true prospective in the general news reporting because there is a small handful of corporations which actually own (outright or subsidiary) and CONTROL all news in my country. You see, an ignorant and uninformed public is very easy to "mainstream" far as the selling of products or influence of "political" persuasion. The problem in gleaning an informed view (regarding gmo's) is that it requires time and an adequate attention span. These two things are something that (seemingly) 99.99% of my countryman lack.I urge readers to use youtube to "catch up" on much of this information which has been offered on Coasttocoastam over the years. Simply use search terms: "Coasttocoast gmo" for more offerings. Here is another program which Coast presented: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq0ETIQP_bEThe info you want to hear begins at the 39 minute mark. Here they discuss some aspects of the advent of gmo products and the real effects of the consumption of these products.
