When I hear Yoder this is what mind brings up. Sorry PNW focus is all about getting the trees to the truck. These little babies make landings unnecessary but do foul the road for traffic flow. But they can move over as they are not static setups. Quite the tech marvel for small diameter trees and thinnings.

ud be surprised how much the amish bend their own rules, it depends on each sect or how ever they're divided up, but many have cell phones, or own trucks but keep them in some one elses name who also drives for them. there are also alot of appliances they will use so long as they are gas powered. its ok for them to use electricity if they live in a house that is rented. Menonites are basically the same as amish but a different division most menonite are not as strict as the amish and own cars which almost always are black. some menonites are just as the amish strict tho

Yeah, around here if the Amish do not own the building they can pretty much work with anything. I have some that are not allowed air tools, they convert all tools to run from a line shaft.

Had an amish crew put new on steel siding and repair the roof on our pole barn. They used electric tools, even had a mini fridge plugged in inside the barn for their lunch.
They borrowed my Ridgid cordless drill without asking, and got aluminum roof paint all over it

They did a great job though

They will put these on a line shaft and run the gas engine outside for the winter time.

Ah ok. Show is a real laugh job for anyone who lives near the Amish, or anyone who isn't an idiot for that matter, it's so fake. Honestly I don't quite understand the rest of the countries fascination with a very boring culture don't get me wrong I have alot of respect for them and I love this area. But the Amish mostly stick to themselves unless you're going to give them money or work for them(theman53s motivation thread). Not only are the Amish this way but the whole central pa area is. I travel all over the country for work and I must say, home is the most unfriendly place. The first thing I notice when I get out of town is how much more friendly people are. It's not so much that people here are rude everyone just keeps to themselves. Usually around here if someone is friendly they are crazy and will never stop talking to you until both ears fall off. Eh like eye contact with another person in the grocery store is awkward. Now talking to people u no is just the same as anywhere else but social interaction with strangers is generally rare or awkward. I was born and raised here and my family has been in this region for 100s of years but sometimes stuff is just weird. We're not jerks tho just a socially retarded part of the country I guess haha. And what the rest of the country calls pot pie sucks. Our pot pie rules

The Amish around here are different too. It takes a good long while for them to 'warm up' to you. Unless you are neighbors with them like Eli and I, it takes time. Then they seem pretty normal once you get to know them. They just don't like outsiders much as I think they are worried people like me will corrupt them. Which, they are probably correct LOL. I haven't seen the show, but from what I have heard I get the jist of it. Still any show with a smallmish wielding and ax has got to be good to watch.
Trav, is that what you guys call the midget Amish? We always have around here 'smallmish' or 'smamish'. I hold back laughing everytime I go into this one chair shop that Abe owns. He is right around 3' even. When I come in he climbs onto a stool that he has made to talk with me at eye level. I have no idea why I find it funny, but I do...too much.
