One I hate that I notice I am doing is saying fur instead of FOR. Sounds so stupid.

Man 1: "What fur?"
Man 2: "That stuff what grow on small woodland creatures."

Just trolling around and this whole conversation made me think that Missourians are people (Amish and Mennonites included) from everywhere else. I've heard all this stuff. My gripe around here is people who can't pronounce the name of the damn state. Half of them call it mizz er uh.

Other than asians who have english as a second language, my favorite english dialect that i have experienced has got to be the louisiana area cajuns.  I was driving through there on my way to houston for work and made a stop for fuel, I figured hell i'm in louisiana i should get some local food.  So i walked up to the guy at the next pump and told him i was from pennsylvania, and asked him to recommened some where that had good local food.  Wow, i really could not understand him at all, its almost like they don't use their tongue to speak, just lips and teeth or something.  it took me a while to start to understand what he was saying, honestly i think he was half putting on a show for me since i said i was from pa, and he told me he used to work in new jersey and noted there wasn't any good food up there. haha i ended up eating boudin some type of rice and pork and beef filled sausage it was really good. i had morcilla before too, kind of an odd puerto rican dish.

I bought my house from an Amish and then helped him raise a new house. He stole my generator gas and food from my garden every time my back was turned. He finally moved to another part of the state and my fuel usage went to about half.

Not all are like him, There are good and bad with all.  I have game cameras all over my property and have had chips taken from them.  If I catch one on my property I will make sure that I take it before an elder in their community. They can ban him from being Amish.

They feel like since you are not Amish you will never meet up with them in the afterlife and therefore are a turd.

I remember about 10 years ago a bunch of us were riding bicycles in a highly amish area in November. We were going up a long grade. A black Econoline went around me, then another black Econoline, finally a smaller black van. The front window was open and a bearded young man hung his head out of the window and yelled "get a horse".

I got back at them in a way. I was riding a very low recumbent bike and came upon  an Amish buggy, not unusual. A couple of months later I was at an Amish house inquiring about some wood work. He mentioned that someone on a low bicycle had frightened a horse and it overturned a buggy. Guess it was Karma.
