I've only ever seen sedan B3s here. Did VW sell B3 AAZ wagons here?

i 2nd exit in on i80... u drive right by..
020..... yes sort of... frame rail has to be cut.. 020 longer then 02a.. just bottom of it, half a inch.. shifter mount on rack... the shift tube nuuts cut, a z sorta shape piece made and splice tube back together, the shifter it taller and further back on a b3 vs mk2 so gotta get the rod lined up better..
mk2 pedals fit.. needs hammer mod where colum goes thru.. one spot is a tad tight..
tank.. supposedly a b4 tdi WAGON float fits.. mk3 different.. never work... and sedan no work... else you gotta cut off the pump tube crap and make a solid tube up.. i used nylon line with clamps.. tank holds more then 20 gal.. ive done 21 a couple times...

sounds like a plan probably take me at least a few months to get it all together. luckily I just got a second job so it we a little quicker to pull it off. what's a more suitable car a vr6 or 2.0

vr6 = 5x100 and +1 on suspention.. also for emissions a auto fail... no vw diesel for 93-96 till tdi in 96...
in 90-92 16v b3.... vw had 1.6 diesels in jettas/golfs so to cross plant a diesel in one just requires a but they had them in golf/jetta so dicking with epa regs not so bad if you live in a emisson requirement state.. just rember a eco diesel had cat.. na did not..
so do some reserch for your state to decide... my sedan was a 92, my wagon is a 90... if i was to ever sell it/require emissions i know i am covered... pluse got 3 more years till its 25 and theory is historical plates

too bad i need 1 car to have normal plates... not driven my b3 in 18 months... kubvan been my travel car.. not needed a 3rd person seat in long time.. but its got plates/insurance...
work wise... vr6/16v.. same.. vr6 = electric speedo... 16v = cable...
ac lines... 16v hook right up to mk1/mk2 ac comp... vr6.. not..

but vr6 may hook upto tdi style ac comp with serp.. do not know 100% though..
id also do heater core during the build with flap refoam.. pull dash for wiring ease/pedal swap ease.. i had already done this in my sedan.. so swapped it too during the build on the wagon.. this is also a good time to swap to black carpet or better carpet if wanted... the grey/tan carpets suck/stain..

ill probably have the car registered in ohio. would like to use a hydro motor will actually probably use eco motor asf trans and eco exhaust i just put in my jetta and just find an N/a and trans to put back in it and sell the car. 16v chasis probably sounds better I more of a manual cable type of guy opposed to being all electrified and digital. I assume the world will be mad maxx in a few years so I make my car accordingly. ac don't know if I want it or not. did any of these b3's come with sunroofs? one thing I like having in a car.

I've seen more than one B3 Passat AAZ wagon for sale here on the West Coast of Canada, so they do exist. FWIW, the 93 Passat sedan I had was hands down the worst car I've ever owned. I ended up parting it out and scapping it after spending $1000s trying to keep it on the road. I'd never go near one again. OK, end of rant.
