One of the metal injection lines (#2 cyl) cracked right by the injector nut a couple of wees ago, and I assumed previous owner may have not tightened correctly , or just old metal line, bad motor mounts etc.
I replaced with a used one and made sure the line clamps were on correctly and tightened the lines down correctly. I just had the replacement line break in the same spot -after about 50 miles driving it.
Any advice? Injector is not obviously "loose" or anything, threads look fine, and I know it vibrates a little more than average (could use motor mounts). but ?
Anything I might be missing, even the obvious..would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
You need the dampers that clip the lines together.
You must loosen the lines before rotating the pump to relieve torsional stress.
If a ham fisted gorilla sits on them, they may crack later.
That's all I got.
the admin of the kubvan fourms has just broken 3 in the past few mo.. il tell you what i told him...
loose pump, motor mount bracket bolts need checked too..
no clamps between the lines
no one loosened/retightened the lines after a pump adjustment..
those are the 3 things i know of... a injector sticking.. i highly doubt it...
