Will a G60 valve cover fit my diesel head? What are they worth?

Better that he asked here.  Look at that nice picture he got.  And what year is that intake on the airbox?  Mine is oval up front and I would like a round one like that to put a hose on.  Trying to get a round hose to clamp on the oval is not working for me.

Yes, that's a 1.5 airbox. I like the grey plastic plumbing fitting on the breather line!

I would if I could. I was at a VW show and saw this G60 valve cover and tried to do a search from my phone but the signal was fading in ad out, I was barely able to send my post.

Anyway took a chance and bought the G60 VC/ windage tray for $20, both manuals in pristine condition for $12, all mouldings for $5. What's cool is the long moulding is the one I been looking for to replace the one some a**hole stole from my car in a municiple parking lot 6 months ago. I think I did ok?

You got a good deal, I think I paid over $60 for mine with the breather.

In my case I got it because I thought the oil leaks were from a bent stock piece, didn't care for the looks.

I found out my engine had major blowby and pressures and it resulted in oil getting push passed the rubber kit constantly.  Got a different healthy engine now that doesn't smoke like a train out the oil fill and I don't see a drop yet :)

Primarily I want it for better seal, secondary looks. the one on the car currently is all rusty and bent. I have straightened it best I could but it still leaks a little.

 did yours fit without modification?

I have a stock setup 85 jetta td.  I installed the single rubber valve cover gasket kit, you have to take out the old studs and install the ones that come with the full kit.

It fit just fine, just like the other you tilt a bit to get started and then even it out and drop it in, I did not have to take a dremel to it or anything.

It could work for you in that regard, maybe yours is too bent out of shape.

Also when I did mine I have a vane type vacuum pump and the block plate was blocked off so I took the time to get a single nippled plate and added another hose from it and t'd it into the valve cover/intake plumbing.  Mine has a square breather that screws into the cover and the nipple came out the opposite direction.
