Looking for a full Turbo conversion for my 1.6na
I'd need the downpipe, Turbo, manifolds ect. I'd prefer to buy it as a whole kit. Let me know what you have. Thanks!

What are you looking for, both turbo-wise and overall-performance-of-the-motor-wise?
What level of fabrication is possible / desired, as far as exhaust, oil feed / drain lines for the turbo, etc.?
Do you have or are you looking for a turbo IP to go with this, or are you going to run the n/a IP?
It kinda sounds like you're wanting to go stock T3 or K24, for simplicity's sake. Is that incorrect?
As far as getting your hands on a kit, have you checked ebay? I see pulled turbo kits from 1.6 td's on there from time to time. Not the cheapest way to get the stuff, usually, but....
Wow, sorry that was an incredibly vague post. I must have posted that when I was incredibly tired.
Really I'm still planning out most of my build (still learning about all of this stuff). But the car is very close to passing inspection and i've been driving it a little bit and around the DC area It's just a little tough to merge and get around, so i thought i'd put this out here to see if anyone had any setups laying around and get an idea of what i'd be spending on the setup.
I'm looking to have some fun with the car but I don't have a huge budget for the build. So I'm not even sure if i can get a turbo setup running. I've got about $1300 I can devote to the build right now and i'm not sure if that will even get me anywhere. But I'm hoping i can find a cheap setup like the one on here a few months ago for a couple hundred bucks and have some money to spend elsewhere. Stated goal is around 100hp but i may be dreaming.
I could probably handle some fabrication work. I don't imagine that oil lines would be too difficult (i just welded the whole front of my car back together... ) and exhaust i could probably get a shop to handle (if there is money left i'd probably get a shop to weld me together a 2.5inch turbo back.)
I was planning on running the stock IP until i could find a deal on a turbo pump that needs rebuilt and send it to giles or possibly find a pump that already has his magic done to it.
I was thinking a k24 would be perfect for right now. I think they are okay pushing around 15-20psi and that seems close to my 100hp goal.
I probably should have done some more research before posting a wtb ad. So sorry about that
stock 1.6td ~60hp... where do you think 100hp is possible??
add in giles fuel pump ~1k thats closer to 100hp...
so for your budget... do not think a turbo alone will get you 100hp...
I might shamelessly remind you I have a vnt, mount and intake for sale. Would only need plumbing

still trying to come up with the coin for this..

Sorry once again I was unclear with my posts. Long term goal for the whole build is around 100 horses. I know without a pretty heavily moded pump I wont see that. But that's my goal.
The Turbo setup is to add some pep for merging and go ahead and get some components in place for the potential of reaching my goal. So my comment about the k24 was just saying I'd like to put something on that will be capable of reaching that goal.
Short term I'd probably just be bolting it on and running stock boost pressures until I learn more about these engines, and possibly just leave it at that. But I'd rather buy something with room to grow

I am still considering this. I'm just really afraid of the whole vane control issue when I'm new to VW, and diesel's... does someone have an easy way to handle vane Control?
What kind of car.
Please ad it to your profile so we don't forget in other posts.
Car added to profile.
I need to do a lot more research before I can start really making decisions on these parts. I thought it would be possible to get a 1.6td setup to bolt on at stock boost pressures for awhile, but all this research on vnt control is making my head hurt... And if i have to fab engine mounts too that's going to get a little extreme.
But at the same time vnt seems to be the way to go... Thanks anyway for the help guys!
Fabbing engine mounts for a VNT is a MK2 thing,.. not a Rabbit thing.

Gotcha. So what all IS the minimum install for a vnt Turbo. Could I bolt it on just like a k series and just leave the vanes open until I get a setup for vane control?
How would that run?
I hear tthere is a Guy possibly producing a kit for his set up sometime in the future.
Can a mod move this thread to the idi section since this is hardly a wtb thread anymore?

that solves one of the main problems i had in mounting the turbo!
So you gonna keep it now?
Picked up a vnt-15 and a gasser intake manifold last night thanks to wdkingery! Turbo is in really good shape and the vanes move like butter on it. i was really really impressed.
Now i just need to get a few more things together and.... BOOOST!
I read through this entire thread over on the vortex which was really an inspiration.

So i'm kind of following along in his shoes. I plan to bolt this up with the bare minimums and add pieces as I go along. So i'm thinking this.
Stage 1:
VNT-15 (with vanes open)
Gasser Intake Manifold
Oil Lines
Intake Piping
Downpipe/Exhaust
EGT Gauge
Stage 2:
Intercooler
Oil Cooler
Stage 3:
Boost gauge
Vane Control
Turbo Pump/Giles
Or something like that. Is that an okay path to take or do i need to definitely have intercooling and oil cooling going on when i install this the first time?
