VNT 15 for sale
« on: April 05, 2012, 11:49:54 am »
well, getting this motor back together has gotten out of control.. it's taken weeks, there has been too much learning curve; frustration is high.
so, in light of that, i am hoping to sell the VNT that came with the car, instead of installing it.  :'( there were too many small questions i still didn't have answers to, and the car i'm driving to school right now goes too fast.. i need this little turd bomber back.
i have a custom mount to clear the VNT on an mkII; i still haven't paid for it (Sorry Lucas) so to foot that bill, if you want to purchase it, your money goes to him, and i don't know what he finally decided to ask for these things (or Lucas if you want it back, i can pay to ship it instead ..? )

info:
the turbo is good from what i can tell: it has no shaft play, the vane actuator works freely; it came with the car.
i had a guy that's ran the exhaust shop down the street for the past 30 years plug and weld the EGR port:

the price is as follows:
please somebody buy this thing

No worries on the payment. I was giving that one to you for 15.00 as you helped by getting me one of the mounts to make it off of. So just send me the 15.00 :D...also I gave you the one that I started to make holes all over to make it universal and didn't finish as you needed it RIGHT NOW. I wouldn't have given it to you or anyone else that way unless it was needed in your fashion. It still needed some work is what I am saying.
GLWS,

a guy offered a new one for $600 on this board, in this section.
half of that is $300.
what is your offer?
i have the turbo, and the mount you would need to make it fit.
all you need is the oil line (can use brake line)
and exhaust.
i don't fab so this became too difficult for me, on top of destroying a rod, full time student, married, car down for too long..

they sound hella neat, which is the main reason i wanted to install mine. youtube an mkIV TDI straight pipe; very cool

some kinda arab said he's gonna buy it tonight from california. i told him $250 plus shipping. he appears to have a 1.9l with a bad turbo, and is looking for a replacement. seems kinda like a money order from west nigeria, but if he pays i'll ship. one thing i dont' get is how he's going to get thru an emissions test in CALIFORNIA with a manifold with a welded-shut EGR port. it's clear as day in the photo. so consider it still available/sale not pending

im trying to set up a deal with lucas on the turbo.. it would be a direct bolt on for MY 92 jetta, because i already have the VNT engine mount, oil lines, charge piping, and all that fun stuff..

this IS a bolt on turbo for me, or anyone with a mk4..

anyone else, this is far from bolt on and go..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

So custom engine mounts are needed for mk1's as well?

no, just custom everything else. lol.

its a bolt on affair on my mk2 tho, since i already had a VNT there once... and the mount is still there..

Haha fair enough! Good luck to you then! What are you running now?

If you have a k series Turbo and manifold and are looking for cash to get this setup maybe we could work something out where I get the k series I want.. you get the vnt you want... and he gets his Turbo sold :)

How is it too bad that he had the port plugged? With a plugged EGR port it's possible to run a gasser intake mani instead of the crappy turbo manifold with it's horrid right angle bends at the bottom, not to mention that now the plugged port is the perfect spot for an EGT probe, provided it reaches in far enough.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm going to plug mine and put my egt probe there and run a gasser intake mani    8)

I was thinking it would be good place to mount a BOV but if it gets in the way then I guess that is that. Ive heard that the VNT could overboost

Welding that to the EGR does make it harder to bolt the intake to the exhaust for support.
That's where I put the support bracket.
