Mk3 Golf IDI TD 140mph with rev counter


Mk2 Seat Ibiza IDI NA 120mph with rev counter

Both work with my engine

140mph speedo.
White instead of fugly yellow color scheme.

I'd say the Mk3 is a winner.

I like the Seat cluster. I've never seen one of those before. The VW one should be fully digital requiring a VSS to drive the speedometer. I'm assuming the Seat one uses a cable since it doesn't have the digital readout for the mileage.

You'd think the seat clocks are cable driven but its electronic with stepper motors for speed/millage, uses the same sender as the mk3

I want to fit the MK3 cluster as it goes better with my various guages, just need to find a way to clock it to 65***, but digital millage specialists want £50+ :cry:

I have GPS sat nav on my iPaq 6340 (6315 to anyone across the pond), that wont help the problem at all the speedo reads spot on according to GPS

The MK3 clocks have done 157088, though I have adjusted the Seat clocks to my correct millage of 065039.

I want the millage on the mk3 clocks to be correct for MOT purposes (annual test carried out by a MOT/DVLA/VOSA approved inspector) but all the companys that do them want atleast £50

Oh, the *CLUSTER* mileage.

It'll roll over at 300K, can you fake a signal to advance it?

You'll have to send it to a tuner that has the equipment, otherwise. And 50 pounds (USD$86.98, I checked too ) doesn't sound too bad.

Huh?  You are allowed to change the odometer?  What's a MOT? and why do they care about the odometer reading.   Over here, no one cares about the mileage except when a car is sold, and then if it has been modified in any way, you just have to sign a paper stating that the odometer is not the actual mileage.   I'd just live with an odometer with 100k more than actual, especially if you don't plan on selling the car.  $90 seems pretty cheap to stay out of jail for odometer fraud, but are you sure these guys are legit.

An MOT is an annual roadworthyness test done in GB, they take a note of the millage done and it goes on record with the DVLA (like your DMV in America)
