Need some advice or opinions - TDI Engine -General Info - VWDiesel.net The IDI, TDI, and mTDI source.

• I have got a 1z tdi motor from a 96 Passat with the 5 spd cable shift trans.
   I want to put in my 82 Caddy truck.
  
   I also have a 12mm bosch mechanical idi injection pump that i would like to use.
  
   Can anyone tell me which injector nozzles and turbo I would need to use for the best
  performance with the 12mm pump.
  
  Or will this pump even work as is, Or do I need to install the tdi camplate ?

• What did the idi 12mm pump come from?  Was it a stationary/industrial engine?  If so the camplate isn't the only thing you need to worry about.  You'll need to look at the advance curve and the governor as well.

• I don't really know, I bought it from e-bay its new bosch I looked the numbers up and
  it says hercules 4 cylinder 2400 rpm. I will get the number from the pump ans
  post it tonight.
