or will it not spool correctly since its a gasser turbo? ive heard gasser turbos dont spool up the same as diesel turbos..
that was a BIG T3 off a 2.5L engine.. it would have been horrible on a diesel.im talking about a wee little T2 is all.. its off a similarly sized (1.8L) engine also. much closer in size than a 1.6 and a 2.5but it doesnt even matter, the T2 is going on my 86 GTI. i re-drilled the flange on a stock single downpipe manifold to fit the turbo.i have all the bits needed to convert CIS-Lambda to be boost friendly also.. so all i need to do is put all of it together, and get it running.its gonna be sweet having 2 BOOSTED CARS!

thats why i run around 15 usually. it seems to just be working great around then tho. i might try it higher if i get gutsy. i might put the garrett on the car if i get bored sometime since i know its good up into the 20s. the sr20 is the one most people run because they ditch the CA18. my friend had one make over 500 horsepower to the wheels. my point is that they flow alot of air and rev very high.im actually running the front mount off his old car on the rabbit right now.that turbo will probably work great for what your looking to do be really torqey down low and have no top end.

sr20 and ca18 had similar turbos, it really depends what ca18 it came from tho
either way id go with a slightly bigger turbo i would think. depends if you make the top end flow any better i guess.
