Not sure if I posted this already. I couldn't find the black iron plumbing bushing which fits the timing mark plug and didn't want to run to the store to look for another so made one out of a wooden dowel. Took only minutes to make and works better than the bushing which needed a small pipe wrench to turn. With a long screwdriver you have a clear shot at the plug for easy removal.
I drew a 27 mm hex on the end of the dowel and used a knife for the hex and a saw for the slot.

.
I made a tool like that maybe 15 years ago and it worked fine. I think I still have it some place.
I have 2 or 3 sockets that work.
I find a bolt with a head that fits the plug, and then lock two nuts on the other end to give you something to turn with.
Hey guys, great idea to remove that plug !
I can't locate anyone that sells the plug and mine is missing. Everybody that has a spare trans doesn't want to part with theirs.
Any ideas where I can buy a replacement plug ?
