So I just got a Canadian diesel cluster. Got her all hooked up and everything functions perfectly, except for the reason I got the thing in the first place. The tachometer. I replaced the sensor on the back of the odometer. Still nothing. Is the cruise relay related to this? I took it out since I have a blown cruise diaphragm anyway. Should I hook it back up? Anything else to check? I hooked the brown and white with blue striped wires up both ways. So not sure that's the issue. Do I have to run a new wire to the W terminal?Help, stuck
I don't have it apart at the moment but, I'll check that and get back. Any other should checks? The bottom of that sensor is marked + and the top was unmarked so I hooked it up that way. I didn't have my DMM at the time but I'll use it tonight.
Same sensor. Both my US cluster and Canadian cluster have it. 2 wires. One brown (-) and one white with blue stripe(+) plug into it. 2 tiny screws hold it on. On the back of speedo.
I tested the W terminal this morning and it was showing 7.15V on the DMM. Does this sound okay? I haven't yet tested for continuity at the cluster. Is it possible that the blue circuit foils are the same for different clusters. I have 2 diesel clusters with clocks, a 8V gasser cluster with tach and the one currently giving me trouble. Maybe I could swap out blue foils? Thanks, Dustin
