i did the governor mod today because i had the pump out......i didnt have the smallest spring...so i just removed the medium one with a little metal tube!!!! now the car idles...but does not rev at all!!!!! its seems to idle a little rough!!!!!
please help!!!!!!!!

If it doesn't rev at all there are a couple possibilities. It is possible that the actual throttle shafts' splines are not engaged with the throttle lever. Or the the governor assembly is not hooked up to the lever assembly.

i second that motion.
and that the throttle shaft splines are not clocked right before putting the lever on.

ok...so imoved the throttle lever about 3 splins.....everything works ok besides while driving the rpms will not drop...they just keep rising!!!!!!
what could that be???

Oh man, that means your splines aren't in the right postition. Basically you are gonna need to keep playing with the splines until you get it back int he EXACT same spot it was when you took it apart, it is crucial that you mark the splines so you cna put them back in the exact same spot. Bummer dude hope you have some luck and get it back to the same spot.

i had it in a good spot where it worked sweet....but the throttle would come on when the gas pedal was pushed in half way!!!!!!!
maybe there is something in the middle that i missed!!!! ill keep trying.....im getting better and better at this!!!!!!

3 splines is a lot, once you get the splines out of wack its pretty tricky to find the right spot again. IF you get really close but the engine runs away once you get about half way through the rev range you are pretty close, and than you can just back the fuel screw otu and you should be good.
