R/R door stuck shut. outside handle has been ripped off by PO.
inside handle is pullin the linkage, but its not doin anything

i cannot find a way to get to the latch at all.. i even tried to pry it open alittle; nothin
any ideas?
Is this a four door mk2 car? Only way I've found is to remove the back seat, and get in there with a screwdriver and pop the latch itself. Try it a few times on a door you can get open for practice, because you're working blind. Once it's open, you may or may not have to replace the door latch. A bunch of lubrication might fix it, or might not. You might find that there's a spring broken inside the latch.
I pulled the door card out (I had a spare). Once you get it apart, reach in and try the latch. I'd check the plastic fittings, I had a broken one and the latch wasn't lubricated, so it wouldn't work.
if the outside handle is ripped off, then you can work the whole latch assy thru that hole.. the front lever is the door mechanism, the back lever is the lock mechanism..
Is there any difference if it's a 4 door car?

the only difference should be how the lock works. i think the actual door latch is still right inside the door, where the handle would go..
If the door handle is missing you should still be able to stick your finger in the hole in the door and push down on the lever in there to open the door.
As far as breaking into cars, VW MK2s have to be some of the easiest in the world.

mk1/mk2 cars are way simple to get into with no key. might have to sacrifice the door handle, but those are cheap.

Did you get it open? Not sure I was clear... Screwdriver between the door and the body, pop the latch where it grabs the pin.
