its a solid kit. If I were you though, I'd get the short throw kit, upgrade the shifter liankages and get an A3 weighted shifter from the junk yard or from the stealership. A lot of the ebay weighted shifters are over priced.

The missing linkz kit I posted has 0 25% and 50% throw reduction depending on where you put it.

I think that USRT has them too. They are a kit that you put together and can adjust all angles.
Heres a link to a kit at BFI.

I have this kit, looks awsome, its just waiting to go back in with my engine soon hopefully, Got it on ebay for $140

the 1.6 TD has nothing to do with it, unless it has some goofy shaped downpipe.. it will fit any 020 equipped vehicle pretty much..

Thanks. It looks sexy as all get out. I am getting ready to do the clutch with the eurospec lightened flywheel kit from BFI, and the 1st gear is gettin a little sloppy, so was thinking upgrade. But am weary of just buying the first thing I see that looks cool, so its good to see other members of the forum vouching for shiz Im looking to do to the Eco.
Also, thanks for the tip on the Audi 5000 badge. You have been most helpful as of late with a lot of things I have been doing to this car. Seriously, thanks.
She is just making sure its the right temp for you...

i would avoid the lightened flywheel.. a gasser flywheel is lighter than a diesel flywheel.. so if you wanna go with a lightened, go with a stock gasser flywheel..
these are all examples:
say the stock diesel FW weighs 20 lbs, well the gasser wheel will weigh like 15 lbs, and the lightened wheel will weigh about 12 lbs..
see what im saying here? use stock pieces and get the same effect? using too light of a flywheel on a diesel will make it idle a lil rougher, and have quite a bit less low end power.. been there, done that, thats why i say the gasser flywheel works good. cheaper too.

Wtf? I thought that the less rotating mass you have on the engine, the better? For all applications? Lease explain? Cause the flywheel is already here. Will be posting a pic soon for help with marking tdc.

Well, if you have a high revving gas engine, yes lighter is better, lets the engine wind up faster. Lets the engine wind up faster and all that. On a slower revving diesel, a heavier flywheel well help to smooth out the rough diesel idle and help with low end torque. When I did a new flywheel on my 1.9, I went with the OEM 210mm gas part. My thoughts were that if I had the choice of making a lower speed, slower revving diesel engine perhaps rev up a little faster (but nowhere near as fast as a small gas engine), or smoothing out the lumpy idle and increasing the pull off the line, I went with the latter.

gotta remember that your diesel, with a governor mod, only turns ~5800
and if no governor mod, 4800 rpms..
you dont need a light flywheel to get you to 5800..
i can notice a light flywheel on a diesel pretty easily. but a heavy flywheel, you dont really get any ill effects from it. power isnt any slower..
diesels are a lazy engine by nature.. they dont need a light flywheel. its kinda counter-productive if you ask me.
