I run a 1200CCA Caterpillar BAttery in mine.
If I am ever stuck, she starts her even in -35C
took a tiny mod to fit, but its been great.

The Sterling Acterra fire truck we have at our fire station has a Caterpillar diesel engine that rocks 3 1200CCA batteries. Do you have any pictures of the setup your using or details on the mod you had to do to get it to fit?

A Cat battery seems like it would be a nice addition to the starting system of any diesel vehicle.. However for the price, it might be a bit overkill for me.

wasn't much of a mod, just on my battery tray there was a front lip edge. I cut it out and welded in a longer one.
The battery was the best price.
Free
Warranty on a 950G loader, one battery failed and they sent 2.

On mine I believe I'd have to move the PS tank as the battery would probably hit it. Not sure.

X2 on Optima Red Top.
Got one in my Bus (as it sits for long periods, with a Battery Tender on it)
and one in my Jetta TD.
Only way to fly.
~950 CCA,
and all the benefits of a gell-cell battery.

Hmm.. I just can't justify twice the price. When the old fashioned batteries still work..
Now don't get me wrong, if I was rock crawling in a custom rig.. I'd have one pronto.. But with a custom rig, I could probably afford it lol

i can jump start damn near anything with my rabbit.. and its just got a 650cca batt or something like that in it.
but it helps when the rest of your car only takes about 300mA to operate everything..
