my friend has connected fuel lines from fuel filter by mistake on the contrary. fuel return line to the filter and fuel delivery line to the return line of the car....
we were cranking the car for about 45-secs-1 minute this way before i found out this mistake. after that i connected everything properly and the car started up after the first kick start attempt.
i have no cold start lever connected and after starting up the car was refusing to idle without foot on accelerator pedal

as cooling system isn't finished yet i shut the engine off after 10-15 seconds of idling.
and my question... i'm quite worried, would something happen to the pump because of our mistake?
pump was primed before every attempt of starting up (with a little pump on filter body)

Most unlikely to have done any damage.
Have you been working on the car for the CSD to be disconnected, or has it never been connected?

, sorry i read "most likely to have done any damage" for the first time i looked at your post

i'm really revealed now.
as there is a one way valve in the filter i thought that excessive pressure, if there is any, in drain back line (wich was connected to the filter, instead of the delivery line) could harm something. but there was no fuel getting in the pump (delivery line was connected to the drainback line of the car)... so i hope that i haven't damaged my engine

and rough idle was only because of the air in high pressure lines.
i'll install radiator and try to start my engine again for the weekend. because i have not got appropriate starter (it will be delivered in two weeks from ebay) and the only way to get my car stared is to kick start it with my friend's mercedes

Just be REALLY sure of your timing! This is a harsh way to start an engine. At least with a starter, you have a chance of catching a few unusual ticks if the timing is a bit off. If you bump start and that timing is out enough, or it jumps a few notches because something wasn't tightened, it'll be short lived!

engine came out of a running car, so i think timing is ok for now... and what do you think about my pump, could something happen to it?
p.s. i have swapped aaz to suzuki vitara
a symptom of failing AAZ crank nose is crappy idling..
The pump was pulling a vacuum.
This is what it does all the time, but in your case it failed to get the diesel to flow.
Unless you artificially 'drove' the pump for hours, or a long time until the pump body drained of diesel and the vanes dried out and scoured the seating, the lubricated vanes would just leak back the diesel. Apart from feeling a little foolish, I am sure that you have done nothing harmful...
Not so foolish, so as to not recognise your fundamental mistake, so go and have a beer and relax...
thank you very much for your support

hope that really nothing bad has happened

yes i know about crank nose failing problem, i even had a topic about my crank spocket
http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=26361.0 but it is not so bad that could fail so soon. and i think that it must be some other issue. hope it was not my fault LOL
yea, i remember you were talking about doing it, and decided against the TDI crank sprocket upgrade..
i just hope it doesnt turn around to bite you in the @$$...

yes i know that sooner or later i will have to modify crank spocket, but i don't think that several seconds of running (without even a pulley attached to the crank) could make things worse
