Hi all,
I've put a rebuilt AFN in my A6 and I can't get the IP to prime

I've tried pulling fuel up to the filter, filling the pump at the inlet and even running it from a fuel can thats higher than the pump and nothing. All four injector unions are loosened and there is no fuel at any of them.
The only thing left that I can think of is that the pump has gone bad sitting in a box for 2 years. Is that likely or even possible?
Any suggestions welcome, because this thing is really beginning to annoy me now and I'm stumped
Have you tried applying suction at the "out" side of the pump?
I will have done in about 10 minutes......
Nothing

I can't suck anything through with a handheld rubber siphon pump. Does it need something stronger than that?
What I do is use my Brake bleader vacuum pump to pull fuel into the filter, then connect to the return line from the pump to pull it into the injection pump. If you can't get it into the filter then you might have a blockage between tank and filter which I am sure you already know. I can't remember the vacuum I was pulling but I had no issues.
Yeah, a rubber suction bulb might not be strong enough. I use my 6 litre oil evacuator, and even it pulls pretty hard.
Sorted now

I used a gasser lift pump feeding the input to the pump. It didn't do anything static, but as soon as I turned it on the starter it primed and started

Thanks for the tips guys
