my new luggage
« on: October 20, 2010, 10:34:29 am »
just picked this up, should make the lack of space inside my car a little more livable on trips down to homer.

probably going to be a permanent fixture of my car, as I have nowhere to stash it(unless my wife wants a new coffee table)

It's going to do wonders for your fuel economy..... ???

or I guess you don't care that much..?

meh, the car gets great mileage to begin with, so a little loss is not such a big deal.
that and at 55MPH aerodynamics are not such a big deal.

could always make a nose cone for it, so the air will pass right over it instead of hit a flat edge.. lol

well, the affect of fuel economy will be tested this weekend on my trip to homer.

I also got a set of air shocks for the rear to get its sagging butt back up, which should help with fuel economy(maybe it will all come out as a wash economy wise?)

Of course it will :P but we all do it.
you spend $xxx.xx amount of dollars on stuff that will "help the fuel economy" but $xxx.xx in straight fuel is a butt load of fuel :P .

its REALLY for fun :)
and the price of fun can't be capped, only limited.

well, the air shocks were cheaper than stock replacement shocks(and the rear shocks were blown anyway)
so I am calling the expense for them "maintenance"
(see how I can justify spending money just like that? its a gift...)

we try and get awesome mileage, only to fill our trunks with subs and amps to work our alternators guts out! makes great sense.. my car gets like -2 mpg if i got the stereo cranked.. makes the a/f gauge show a leaner mixture too, but thats on my Gasser.. diesel should be similar losses..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
