Im still some what new to IDI diesel engines and I bought a 83' vw rabbit GTI that im gonna restore from the ground up and with that being said im wanting to build a 1.6TD bottom end with a 1.9TD (AAZ) head and a VNT 17/22 hybrid turbo and am wanting to know what is the best injection pump for this set up I know im wanting Giles to build my pump. which nozzles should I use? I know that the stock 1.6TD can flow a lot of fuel.
Here's some pictures of my car and right now everything is stripped out of it and i am taking the sound deadening out of the car so I can fix the floor pans sandblast it do the body work, primer it then paint it well here the pics for now tell me what you think!!
engine bay is empty right now i think im gonna clean it up a little
the floors pans are ok but i think im gonna replace just cause i guess i want to
that's all i have right now done on it ive bought a few parts for it but not very many!
here's my daily driver right now its a 89' bmw 325i and im wanting to convert it to a diesel thinking about putting a mercedes 300TD in it!
heres a picture!
P.S ive already fixed that taillight!!

This sounds like a cool build, I'll be watching it. Funny, it looks like the bimmer's drifting in that last pic. Giles will make a great pump & also answer performance questions on the phone. I think you're gonna need a diesel fuel filler neck to allow diesel pumps to fill your tank. I have thought of upgrading my 1.6td to an aaz head someday, too. Good luck!

to: R.O.R-2.0 thanx for the comment i was beginning to wonder cause i already have 55 views and nobody even commented on it, and on VWVORTEX all i got was a bunch of crap about putting a diesel engine in a GTI!
to: PUNKVIDEO81 thanx man and yeah i didnt realize it until after i took the pic that it looked like that lol, and yeah from what i have read Giles makes the best injection pump from what i can gather on the internet and all the positive feedback he gets! oh and also im building a brand new engine mainly from PartsPlaceInc.com
heres an update from today didn't do too much just trying to get all of the sound deadening out of the car i also have to take the brake booster off so i can get the wiring harness the rest of the way out well here's a pic of my girlfriend helping take out the sound deadening
she got a boo boo lol

I like the look of mk1 GTI's, cool project to do.
Giles will be the best one to answer your nozzle questions, but stock nozzles can go to around 200 horses. And only $10-15 each.
I don't know much about specifics on the GTI, did they come factory with that kind of dashboard ? It looks like mk1 Jetta dash.
Much nicer than Rabbit/Truck dash.
Will it be Black or Red or something else when you paint it ?
Your girlfriend is really cute too.
Great that she helps you out like that.
Good luck to you both on the build.

I am thrilled to see someone extend the life of an old GTI. I always wanted one of the GTI's from this vintage, but, it was the model of VW that I could never locate and get my grubby paws on. I always thought that dieseling one would be super fine. Best of luck on locating all the parts you will need to keep it looking like a GTI rabbit!

To Baron Zeppelin: cool me too and im actually doing the circle headlight conversion to it too! yeah o know but i really wanna see how much this little engine has in it u know as this isn't my daily driver it is lol the guy that had it before me was putting a 2.0l ABA in it and it was already wired for it too but i want a diesel so yea!the guy that had it was gonna paint it red and i think im gonna try to keep the outside looking like a GTI just with a few suttle upgrades u know like im wanting to make a custom badge to go on the back prolly goin with a different dash not sure yet! and thanx man she was a little reluctant to do it at first but this morning she said she wanted to be a part of it so there we went lol!
To Dakotakid: just keep searching for them man another one just popped up on my craigslist its a body for like $250 bucks lol and thanx im gonna need it lol all one the junkyards in my area have all crushed them!! :'(so saying that most of my parts will be probably be new!

If you are willing to buy used front end parts for the round light conversion, you can find what you need on the vortex under cabriolet parts or golf 1/Jetta 1 parts. I just did.

If some people over here would see you putting a diesel in a gti they would probably kill you for that.
Did you guys know a gti in this condition is worth between 2-3000 (3-4000 CAD) over here,if in compelete condition and little rust you would get 7 grand EASY (like sold in a week) !!!
But i like your plans,a wild modded diesel will be a lot more fun and more powerfull then the gti engine
