For the filler neck you can just remove the restrictor. If I remember right I just took the neck off and used a prybar to collapse the restrict enough to get it out.
Sounds like a sweet swap! I put a 1.6td in my 83 gti a couple years ago, I have yet to catch much heat for "ruining" a rare car tho.

Yeah me either but some seem to think mine is since it's a non sunroof black ac car with a blue interior. Most everyone that sees it thinks the swap was an improvement.
What are your plans for fuel delivery? Or have you not gotten that far?

I saw your thread on the Tex, and I thought about weighing in, but I just give up with all the hating going on over there ::).

Aren't you from GA?  If yes then it is nice to see another diesel MKI in the southeast.

I'm all for swapping diesels into GTI's, GLI's, Sciroccos and Corrados. Nothing is too sacred for an oil burner so keep up the good work and keep posting pictures.

cheers

To DakotaKid: not sure what your talkin about bro!

To Punkvideo81: ill take some more and put them up man its pretty cool i like it!!Its a 4 door with GTI seats, GTI rims, GTI grill without the badge, rusted hood, brand new dash no cracks, coilovers, poly bushings, eurosport rear upper strut and idk what else the guy was gonna make it a track car the paint and hood was done not too long ago.the only thing i found that is wrong with it is that the shifter needs to be rebuilt!!!
