Cheap AAZ stock turbo from ebay
« on: September 06, 2010, 11:43:40 am »
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Borg-Warner-Turbo-K03-Audi-VW-1-9L-TDI-AAZ-1993-1999-/280477674890?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item414dc5ad8a#ht_500wt_928

I bought on of these, was very iffy on if it will explode. But they happen to be a real shop in the states, 100% positive feedback. And when it got here the tag was legit, and the turbo got me through the coquihalla without exploding. And any shop i talked to wanted 1400 for one. So for anyone looking for a new stock turbo here seems to be an ok place to get one. also if you look at past offers, they took 390.00 USD as an offer so they should take your offer of 390 as well.
Hope this helps anyone in need.

Thanks for the report... lots of rumours on the interwebs, so always good to hear from someone first hand.

In terms of fitment... the manifold looks a bit different than standard AAZ... did you have to fuss with it much?  What did you rig up for oil lines?

Bolted right in, no issues. Stock oil lines bolted up and came with gasket. It came with a new oil reducer or at least i think it did, i used the old one. The oil return line was a *** to put back on once she was bolted to the manifold.

Once the boost gage goes in i will tell you what she is running at.

Ah yes.. my AAZ has the K14 trapezoid manifold so I didn't recognize the triangle.

I know this took a long time, i was out of town and couldnt find any hose clamps or brass T's so i never gt the gauge in.
I did this weekend, its running perfectly at 12 psi.
at around 1800 it levels out but thats with 2 1/2 turbo back straight pipe and the fuel turned up just under smoke.
Good buy if you are staying stock.
