My 1981 1.6n/a has a screw down type of radiator which has tested bad from the pressure test that was administered. I have leaks around the neck of the plastic upper male pipe where the upper radiator hose attaches too. I have removed the A/C system from the vehicle including the condenser. Is the best option to go with the same style radiator or are there other options. I would like a bigger radiator especially because I don't have that condenser in the way, it's just that I have the screw down type mount and I think that might limit the size and type of radiator I can install. If the stock radiator is my option, I guess I'll order one from Autohausaz.com. Thanks.
I think unless you're going custom or willing to walk the junkyards looking for other options, what's available is what's available.
I looked around a while ago and everything was plastic endtanks. I have an old one with metal tanks and may hold onto it, just to see what it would cost to get refurbed.

RockAuto sells a nice one. It's made of firm aluminum (not the paper-thin stuff). I forget who the manufacturer is, but it looks nice. All new ones have the plastic tanks.
