Will that down pipe hook to a regular toilet bowl?
Is the wastegate free? When was the last time it was ran?
Won't a T3 and K14 also work with that exhaust mani? But with a different oil supply line?
I'm getting very tempted..........

thanks

looks like n/a and TD front pipes are different part numbers. Not sure if that's on account of length, a resonator, or that they're simply different and won't play together.
Car ran trouble free and was parted in May. T3 and K14 share the same flange. T3 uses the same oil line. K14 wold probably have to be tweaked slightly. K14 return line different.

You can use a NA lower downpipe/toilet bowl with a turbo. The difference is the angle that the two seat at. You will not get a good seal with the NA and turbo downpipes but it will work.

You can cut and reweld your headpipe up under the flange area to get the fit/angle like BYM mentioned.
And just for the sake of it, that is mk2 downpipe.
IF used on mk1 - you'll more than likely need to cut/reposition/weld the headpipe anyway to get a fit on a stock/pre-existing mk1 exhaust. And tweak the shift linkage for clearance.
Or get another downpipe made for mk1.

Ok thanks guy's, yeah I have a toilet bowled 2.5" exhaust. So it sounds like the toilet connection is located closer to the shift linkage meaning I'd have to "roll" my DP to the left?
Still thinking about it.............

You're gonna get me confused here Rabbitman. lol
For clarity's sake - the Dpipe on a turbo exhaust is the section coming off the turbo. You can't roll that thing unless you unbolt it and roll it down the street real hard.
I did a comparison photo thread a while back between cast iron mk1 and mk2 Dpipes side by side. About a year or so ago, but can't remember if it was on here or on Vortex.
The mk2 unit is about 2.5 - 3 inches closer towards the shifter linkage than the mk1 unit would be.
The mk1 unit also has a longer downspout section - by about 1.5 inch or so. And a lil more angle involved if i remember.
So your headpipe connection will need to go over a bit, and up a bit, if you used the mk2 TD Dpipe.
My 81 Truck has had this mod by a previous owner.
It has an mk2 Dpipe mated to the factory style/sized NA exhaust system. It could have been done a lil better. But it works.
Between the angles and the relocations - no way of getting around cutting your pipe in some fashion or form.
On mine, they cut below the bowl - in the regular sized pipe section, and added a short section with cut angles.
With stock shift linkage, the relay arm will hit/rub/clink the Dpipe/Hpipe connection in 2nd and 4th gear. It can be cured with some slight mods here and there. But they just grinded a notch/groove in the relay arm.
I've got an mk1 Dpipe to replace this with when i get new exhaust.
And need 1 more mk1 Dpipe for Truck#2.
There are 1 or 2 or 3 aftermarket performance Dpipes for mk1.
And people with the right connection/access have made their own.
Not trying to hamper the sale for Dr.Diesel, i'm sure he would want anyone to be a well informed and happy buyer.

Incidentally, the cast iron elbow bolted to the turbo is easily replaced by an early-mid Mk3 AAZ downpipe. It's a bolt-on for Mk2's & 3's, but for Mk 1 you need to cut it above the flex and weld on a 2+" mandrel 90 degree bend, with a flex joint further downstream. For a quick and easy improvement over the whole toilet bowl mess, it's a winner.

Sorry, I PM'ed DR. Diesel a day or two ago letting him know I decided not to get it. I've got a VNT-15 I need to either use or sell before I should get another one.

Ya, sorry! I've been going gangbusters on my autocross TD rabbit. It's one of those things where you start early AM, and the next thing you know it's dark outside, you're yawning and starving, tools hit the floor and you end up sleeping on an old couch with a half-eaten sandwich in your hand because you're too tired to have a shower.

thursday or friday, I promise!!
