Hey folks, I'm a IDI newb and need some assistance. I'm trying to identify a turbo that came with an engine I just picked up. Here's what I do know about the engine... it's a '84 1.6 TD from a Rabbit.
The turbo doesn't have any tags or any identifiable stamping like the KKK turbos. There is a series of numbers stamped into the turbo and I looked up the numbers without finding anything, the last pic has them. I'm hoping the '24' at the end means a K24, but I'm not sure.

The previous owner said the turbo had been gone thru 30k miles ago, so I'll probably run it if it will work for my needs.

Good question! I'm going to put together a 4x4 rock buggy that is similar in size to a Suzuki Samurai. Bolt it to a Sami 5 speed transmission & t-case, run Toyota mini-truck axles and turn up the 1.6l diesel. It will be interesting...
