I purchased the K&N RX4860 filter Assy and the A212-290 ( L Bracket )
The filter must be used with a 2.5 silicone Joiner between the stock tube ( rubber )and the Filter .
The L bracket attaches to the inside bottom of the fender and attaches to a 7/16 bolt from the center of the filter assy.
This L bracket will hold the filter 2 inches above the inside of the fender ( this is a very sturdy support )
I installed a rubber bumper between the bracket and the body to isolate vibration.
This filter is a cone shape and it breathes from the top also.

Sorry to rain on your parade ,but do you know that K&N filters are garbage ? The OEM VW filter and air box with some small mods will outperform a K&N in airflow, cleaning and noise. Do some research and you may just want to sell it .
I couldn't find a Jetta TD filter assy here in the U.S.
If they were that bad they wouldn't be installing them on new aircraft ?

K&N rocks...the only thing we didn't have good results on was the 2 stroke atv and dirtbikes. Too much dust and sand, but then came the rescue...

For offroad and those type applications there is nothing better than foam type filters, at least in my personal opinion.
K&N = Junk. Lets way too much fine dust by. I run on gravel roads all the time. A good paper filter (WIX) is still the best option IMO.
you can't just say that, I live in socal, don't think that there is a dustier more god-forsaken place on the good planet. The guys out here use k&n's all of the time with great success, they just have to clean theirs more often. As I said before, K&N's have their place, one filter can't do good in all categories, they are good for some things, and not-so-good with other applications. They put a lot of research and dev. in on all of their products "why they are so expensive" and they often give their products away on trial programs to gain valuable customer data to make a better filter, at a cheaper price.
I would know one of my best friends works for them, oh and they love them's the military.

We shall see. I'm headed to so. Cal next August. In the heat of the summer, the gravel roads here are pretty much pure dust. The county puts some sort of chemical on the roads near people's homes to keep down the dust. It's that bad. It gets EVERYWHERE.

if they are such garbage, and cant filter the air, then why does my intake stay clean even after 80,000 miles running one? surely after 80k i should have some sort of crap built up in my intake manifold because K&N filters let too much dust in? and i drive my truck MOSTLY off road, gravel, mud, sand, whatever. never the less, after 80k mi with a K&N, my intake is damn near as clean as when i put it on there. just a light coating of oil from the breather is all thats in there. and a light coating of oil on everything is great for dust to stick to, if the K&N actually lets any through.
another thing, if K&N airfilters were no good, why are they the biggest aftermarket filter manufacturer in the friggen world? K&N's work just fine if you keep them clean and wash them when needed. i dont wash them at a certain amount of miles, i wash mine when they are dirty, usually at least once or twice a year.
people dont love K&Ns cause they dont work that well. thats just my thoughts.
I dunno man... the filtered side of the airbox on my dad's Cummins said different when he had a K&N. Was covered with a light film of very fine dust in the nooks and crannies. Since he went to WIX, there's nothing. Same on my TDI, but I can't run oiled filters because it would ruin my MAF sensor.
And with that said, I shall say no more. I know what I'm going to run, and you know what you are going to run.
