I just finished putting an all new suspension and all new front end parts.  The car handles amazingly well now.  It's very tight, and corners that used to be a big deal don't exist any more!

Here's my Rabbit with the new suspension and my Golf TDI.  I like that the Rabbit doesn't look like it's trying to take off in the front any more.  :D

sweet rabbit.  Love the square headlight ones (usually the unloved rabbits, everyone seems to go for the round headlight cars).  I have to get some pics of my jetta up (soon as I get them developped, I still don't have a digital camera).

This is my 1,6 TD. It has ported head with bigger valves, A2 gasser intake, 10mm plunger in pump, bigger turbo,  big intercooler and tube header. And everything is cleaned and painted 8) And these are going in this car

Very cool, Matti!  8)

Is your car an Audi 80, like your userid? It looks like a VW Quantum, which is same car as the Audi 4000 in Europe.

Cheers!

I am going to try a Garret VNT20 from Audi 2,5 V6 TDI. 8)
It is `85 Audi 80 CC TD. I think it is same as 4000 in USA.

Yes, it makes sense that it's what we call an Audi 4000. My Quantum is the same car, but with a VW marque.

I have heard that the VNT20 is too large even for a really hot 1.9TDI, so I think you may have some problems with it on a 1.6TD.

But I will wait to hear from you how well it works! :D

Audi80: wow, that's a clean engine.  Even the water necks look new and shiney.  Please keep us updated on how it works!  :)

Water necks, intake and all silver and black parts are powder coated. Head is just polished a bit. The block and oilpan is painted to match body color.
I am going to drop it in tomorrow. I still have to make new exhaust pipe, intercooler tubing, turbo oil lines etc... Hopefully I get it running for next weekend. I don`t have the VNT yet, going to use the stock Garret for break-in driving.

Got the engine in and running. Still has the old turbo but I got the VNT last friday.
I dont think that VNT20 is too big for 1,6. I know one mk2 Jetta which has one (150+ hp dynoed)
Here is some new pictures:

nice Audi80!  How'd you make the boost tube to throttle mount piece - did you use a gutted throttle valve or some other part as a starting point, or did you fabricate it from scratch?

PS - that is a monster of an intercooler!  :P  Very clean install!

I made it from scratch.
Intercooler is the biggest that could fit between headlights. No more space in any direction. I don`t want any heating problems
