That's a nice diesel you got there GTD.

Where did you get the center console?

6 gauges in all...mmmm...never seen that before.

What kind of wheels are these?

Very nice, we didn't get those on this side of the pond.

Thanks, its in need of a respray, I get it done in the spring, I'll do the prep work, and I know some lads who are sprayers so I'll get a "blow-over" for mates rates.

The center console was made by Votex, I dont know if you guys accross the pond will of heard of them, but they make the genuine dealer  accessories for VAG (VW Audi), the Votex center console is quite rare and was an option, so you basically have two extra din slots.

There are two verions of the votex console, the early 1 piece which was a whole center console, I've only ever seen two of these, on in a very old book (Improve and modify your Golf and Jetta by Haynes which has odd things in it like the BBS and Kamei bodykits) and one on ebay which was NOS in original VAG parts box.
The later version (which I have) is a new front section, you have to cut the front off your console and the new one scews in from the inside so no screws are visable.

There is a company making copys of them but Ive been warned they use a poor grade of plastic and the screws arnt hidden like on the genuine center console but there address is www.swgmotorsport.com its in the mk2 section.

Three guages are the standard Audi coupe ones, theres also a tim 1 BAR turbo guage, which I will replace with a VDO 3bar guage when I have some spare cash! as I plan to up the boost from the stock KKK turbo to 1.1 BAR, the otherguage is a VDO -60A+ Ammeter, and I have a BBS RA centercap as a blank for the othe hole, whic I plan to replace with a VOD EGT guage (if they make one, or I can find one)

The wheels are 15x7J ATS Cups, I got them second hand off ebay, I plan to mirror polish them once spring is here, there also avalable in 8J and I think 9J .

I also have a set of 15x7J OZ Turbo split rims that I need to mirror polish, If I can get the 2 10point sockets to split them, last time I saw the tools on Ebay.de (German Ebay) they cost over £100, I'd get a wider outer rim, but I'd have to cut the arches like on a G60, did you get G60's (1.8 G-Lader supercharged 8V & 16V engines) over there, they had different wings with a bit cut out which is hidden by the plastic arch trims.

We only had (only in Canada) the G60 in the Passat syncro (only 1 year).

We had this engine in the corrado too.

And here's my transportation, one of the first mk2 diesels...

Yeah, it's ugly, but the last two owners paid less than $100 for it, so it hasn't been getting much cosmetic attention ;)

mods: 15x7J alloys, TD swap, GTD suspension, grille, badges, seats.

I did put in new tierod ends a few weeks ago and the engine is in amazingly good shape, as is the turbo.

First pump tweaks done today, more to come...
Current car: '92 Fiat Croma TDID, similar to VW TDI only completely mechanical DI - with VE-style pump.
Previous car: '84 mk2 diesel, w/1.6TD swap ('86 hyd engine), 9mm plunger, KKK K24.

Thanks, let's say the camera (phone, actually) was kind to it :) There's a dent just behind the drivers door and a few small rust spots, faded paint etc. The ATS are very nice to have, although corroded. Not easy to repaint either, in two colors. Mind you, I DID wash the car just a week before taking these pictures, although it may not look like it ;)

Anyway, the interior is decent, and the engine bay is pretty clean too. Which is nice because I like spending time there :P

Here are some pictures I took tonight, it's about -20C right now.

aCk, it's Tornado Red.  It never occured to me that I'd ever own a red car but here it is in all it's flaming glory...  :o

The Road Safety license plates sounded like a good idea until my brother backed into the front one and squashed it.  Now it's kinda embarrassing...

I always try to back into my parking spots.

One piece of fender trim is missing and look at how much salt is growing on the back bumper because of it!  I took it off to hack out the only rusty section of the car but now there's nothing to reattach it to.

See that chunk of snow in the front wheel?  It keeps coming back!  I'm fed up with the shaking it creates so I have plain steel wheels on order.

HAH!  A cupholder. :)  It falls off once in a while but it's still the best feature of the car.  I've got the factory 6 speaker system.  The previous 3 radios were stolen from the car but they never took the speakers so they are worn out. :(

My brothers sunroof, it's an 89 Golf

Yeah, he's got the dorky bumpers on his car and it didn't come with a passenger mirror from the factory.  We were rebuilding his floors when this picture was taken.

That looks just like pictures of my red, 4 door, Golf ...except we don't have any snow yet and mine has some crust around the RR wheel well.
